Grief Support

PEER-led Support Groups
Our peer-led grief support groups provide a space where children, teens, and their caregivers connect with other families who have a similar death experience. Guided by trained CBCST facilitators that include graduate counseling students and community volunteers, our groups provide developmentally appropriate, peer-centered grief activities grounded in Worden’s Four Tasks of Mourning. Through meaningful connection, expressive arts and trauma informed care practices, participants are supported as they process their grief, strengthen coping skills, and continue adapting to life after the death of a person in their life.

Grief Counseling
Our licensed professional counselors assess all new families and carefully curate a plan for treatment of grief-related issues tailored to their unique needs. Based on the intake assessment, confidential counseling services may be provided by our professional staff of trauma-informed and grief-informed counselors.

All grief counseling services are provided in a manner consistent with State of Texas Law and regulations regarding licensed mental health providers and consistent with the licensing board’s Code of Ethics
