This is a two hour training designed to educate the general community, professionals, and “first responders” on supporting children through the journey of grief. The training will include: (1) Understanding the physiological, emotional, behavioral and spiritual manifestations of grief in children;  (2) Understanding a child’s perception of death as it relates to the stages of development; (3) Communicating with children and their caregivers about death and dying; (4) Recognizing indicators of complicated or traumatic grief; (5) Instituting age appropriate interventions to support grieving children and their families.

The training will include:  (1) Understanding a child’s perception of death as it relates to the stages of development; (2) Recognizing indicators of complicated or traumatic grief; (3) Understanding the physiological, emotional, behavioral and spiritual manifestations of grief and their impact on the academic performance; (4) Communicating with children and their caregivers about death and dying;(5) Instituting age and classroom appropriate interventions for children who are grieving and their classmates.

Parenting thru Grief
